20 styling hacks you can get at Kmart

Scroll Down

As one of Australia’s largest retailers, Kmart has become a popular shopping destination for many people who are looking for a good bargain. It may be impossible for someone to visit Kmart and leave without a trolley full of goodies.

If you’re looking to re-style your home without spending a huge amount of money, a trip to Kmart could be the best way to start. With so many affordable products that can easily be revamped into something completely different, it could be a great way to get creative and think outside the box.

Here are 20 styling hacks that can be made from products purchased at Kmart.

Clothes rack plant display

Rather than using it to set up an open wardrobe, a sturdy clothes rack could make an interesting way to display potted plants. By attaching strong hooks and chains of different lengths to the top bar, the plant can look as if they are floating in mid-air. This modern look can easily brighten up an otherwise plain room.

Bowl Plant

Plant lovers may be glad to know that your indoor forest display doesn’t have to be too extravagant. When you’re looking for something a little more simple and a regular pot doesn’t look quite right, try planting your new succulents into a large bowl to show them off on your kitchen bench or as a centrepiece on your dining room table.

Drawer tidies as a wall vignette

If you are looking for a piece of art to bring some personality to a blank wall, why settle for just a simple picture frame? A wall vignette, or a small group of objects that act as the focal point of a room and may tell a story, can be a great alternative. This can be executed in a modern way by attaching drawer organisers to the wall and filling the spaces with little niknaks.

Floating shelf

You could also use your new drawer tidies in a more practical way by using them to create some floating shelves to hold some beauty products in the bathroom, light books in the bedroom or even condiments in the kitchen.

Marble-patterned desk

If you already have a good quality desk, you don’t need to spend money on a brand new one if you’re just looking for an exciting new colour. All you need is a roll of vinyl adhesive roll in a cool pattern to cover the surface of the table. Kmart stocks a sophisticated marble pattern for a chic, modern look.

Clock face-lift

Similarly if you can’t find a nice alarm or wall clock to fit in with your decor, you can always buy a plain one and add your patterned adhesive roll to its face. Simply dismantle the clock to apply the roll correctly and perhaps add a layer of paint to the edges to get exactly what you’re looking for without the stress of shopping around.

Gold-legged chairs

If you want something a little out of the ordinary but can’t find exactly what you’re looking for, the solution could be as simple as a new coat of paint. If you have recently bought a new home and are looking to furnish your dining room, you can buy a bunch of chairs from Kmart and paint the legs if you’d prefer gold, silver or even white to give your decor a unique look.

Labelled Canisters

If accidentally putting salt into your coffee is a common occurrence for you, adding some stylish labels to your canisters could be a necessary move. By supplying beautiful gold stick-on alphabet stickers, Kmart could be your saving grace in this department. You could also use the letters to label the sections in your fridge.

Cube shelf

Maybe a wall shelf doesn’t fit the aesthetic of the room you’re trying to style, but you still need a way to store and display different items. Don’t worry, you have another option. A cube shelf can sit on the floor of a room, allowing minimal setup, resulting in several separate storage compartments to play with. This could be great for those who live in a tiny apartment with minimal storage

DIY Pillow

Redecorating your home could be a great excuse to try out some DIY projects, such as making your own woven pillow. All you need is two jute woven placemats, some jute rope and some raffia ribbon and you’re ready to start your project. Add it to the collection on your bed or place it on your couch for a stylish look.

Just because something may be made for the great outdoors, it doesn’t mean it has to go there. Add a fresh coat of paint and some pillows to convert the bench into a comfortable seat.

Laundry hamper for toys

A laundry hamper isn’t just something you can use to hold your dirty clothes. Pick up a laundry basket with a nice pattern to store toys in your kids’ play room. The soft, light basket is also easy on the hands so your kids’ will be able to carry it around and use it to pick up their toys on their own.

Lolly jar or ice cream toppings

Even though something may be made for a particular purpose, it doesn’t mean you can’t use it for something else. Grab some tea, coffee or sugar canisters to store biscuits or lollies in a stylish way. You can also use them to hold ice cream toppings when you have a kids’ party or even just having a treat on a Sunday afternoon with the family.

You’ll never regret being organised… you may regret not buying multiple spice stands 🙈 (Not so) patiently waiting for another (sold out) bamboo rack to finish off the pantry. Mr 10 months has been really unsettled and clingy this week and I feel like all the housework and home projects are at a standstill at the moment. I don’t like it when things aren’t finished but I guess he needs me more.✨ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀  ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀  ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀  ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #instahome #instadecor #homestyling #homedecor #interiorinspo #interior123 #homestyling #interiorlovers #interior4you #housedecor #interiordesign #organisedhome #stylishhomevibes #pantryorganization #interiors #spicejars #decoratingonabudget #homestylinginspo #whiteaesthetics #roomforinspo #homeinterior #cornerofmyhome #simplestylehome #howihome #myhyggehome #kmartaustralia #kmarthome #myaustralianinterior #kmarthacks #kmarthome
